I admit, I was shocked and excited when I heard about Losing It: A Collection of VCards.
In my opinion, it seems like sex in YA literature is still taboo and in my personal opinion, it shouldn’t be. I think that YA has the capability to be smart, interesting, deep, serious, funny, and everything in between. To act like sex, or drugs, or disorders, or smiles, or mischief, or FILL IN THE BLANK doesn’t happen in teens is severely underestimating today’s youth.
Which is why I was so thrilled to hear that someone was brave enough to put together Losing It: A Collection of VCards. Here is a little more about it.

Review: Losing It: A Collection of VCards
If you follow me on Goodreads, (if you don’t, add me and let’s be Goodreads friends!) you’ve probably already seen my review but here it is. I absolutely love this anthology collection. A lot of people seem to have problems with sex in YA but I don’t get it. Sex happens. And we only make it more taboo by not talking about it to teens.
This book is full of sweet first times, steamy scenes, and true blue love.
What I love even more about it, is that the characters are from larger works by each other. I really connected with a few of these characters (and some I already loved like Helen Boswell’s). I’m able now, to head over to those books and read more about those characters.
I think this book makes a fantastic companion to these authors books for readers who want a more sensitive, personal insight.
I thought this anthology was done perfectly, respectfully, and edited fantastically.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun read, if you’re looking for some Valentine’s day fun, or if you have a curious teen.
Enjoy! I know I did.
